Sample of Student Work
Student work samples offer additional insight into the applicant’s interests and passion for learning. Please submit a project or piece of work your child has created in the past year of which they are most proud. This piece of work can be academic or non-academic, and illustrate your child’s creative process. Work samples can be any format, including photos, video, or scanned images of artwork or writing. Please include a brief description of why this submission is important to your child.


Standardized Test Scores

If available, please upload a copy of your child’s school-administered standardized test scores for the past two years. You may also submit additional academic or ability assessments administered within the past two years.

Standards of Student Conduct
CODE OF CONDUCT

The highest standards of behavior are expected from Academy students both in conduct and in dedication to academic pursuits. The Institute for Educational Advancement expects students to: 

  • Respect individuals of different races, cultures, religions, genders, abilities, and national origins. 
  • Come to Academy ready to do their best. 
  • Be kind, cooperative and responsible. 
  • Take responsibility for their own actions. 
  • Approach challenges and new things with an open mind. 
  • Respect people’s property and personal items. 
  • Respect rules and directions given by teachers and staff (or to question and discuss them in a respectful manner).


PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following is a list of items students are prohibited from bringing to Academy:
  • Weapons of any kind, or any toys that look like weapons
  • Any flame-producing device (including matches, lighters and firecrackers)
  • Pets of any kind

DISMISSAL POLICY

As stated in the Academy application, we cannot accommodate students who are unable to adhere to the expectations set forth in the Code of Conduct. Violation of any of the policies may result in immediate dismissal. No refunds will be given if a student is dismissed from the Academy. 
 

In addition, students may be dismissed from the Academy for the following reasons: 

  • Vandalism or theft 
  • Repeatedly engaging in disruptive behavior 
  • Leaving the premises unaccompanied by a staff member 
  • Being in restricted areas unaccompanied by a staff member 
  • Any violation of the safety or well-being of any person 

We have read the Code of Conduct policies. We understand our responsibility to abide by the program requirements outlined above and that failure to comply may result in suspension and/or expulsion from the program.

Course Selection

Please select the courses you would like to sign your child up for. Tuition materials fees, and discounts can be found below the list of courses.

Spring 2025 Session Dates

Monday, January 27 to Monday, April 28
(No classes Monday, February 17 for Presidents’ Day and March 31-April 5 for spring break.)

In-person classes meet for 90 minutes
Online classes meet for 60 minutes




Tuition

  • In-Person Course - $675 for twelve 90-minute class meetings
  • Online Course - $400 for twelve 60-minute class meetings


Materials Fees
Some courses have additional materials fees, which can be found in the course descriptions here.

 

Discounts

  • Multiple course discount: $20 off for each additional course
  • Early bird discount: $20 off total tuition for enrolling before December 2, 2024
  • Sibling Discount: $20 (Siblings enrolled in the same session will receive $20 off each student’s total tuition.)
  • Referral discount: $20 off total tuition for both referred and referring families

 

Enrollment Deposit & Refund Policy
Please note that no payment is due at this time. Once your child's courses are finalized, their enrollment deposit invoice of $75 per course will be emailed to you. Enrollment deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable should your child withdraw their enrollment prior to or after the first class meeting. The remaining tuition balance invoice, less the deposit amount and applied discounts, will be emailed to you after the first class meeting. 

Tuition Assistance

We are pleased to be able to offer need-based tuition assistance. Families who would like to apply for tuition assistance must submit materials before each session in which they are enrolled. To make decisions in a fair and equitable manner, IEA Academy requires that new and returning families submit all of the following tuition assistance request materials to nendacott@educationaladvancement.org by January 6, 2025.

1. A completed 2025 Financial Aid Request Form, including which classes your child will be taking. Please complete a Financial Aid Request Form for each child;


2. A letter describing the circumstances that make tuition assistance necessary for your child(ren) to attend the Academy session to which they are applying;


3. A copy of your most recent tax return. If parents/legal guardians file taxes separately, please include both tax returns.
